For students who are interested in doing research in the Natural Language Processing (NLP) areas with me, there are several steps:

1. Read papers related to NLP issues (10-20 papers)
2. Discuss your ideas and send them to: arif.laksito@amikom.ac.id
3. I'll send feedback about your idea
4. Start to research

Prospective Students:

• Basic knowledge of Programming (Python would be better)
• Expected to study hard and learn new knowledge
• Web/Mobile Development (optional)
• Minimum GPA: 3.25

Available research topics:

• Topics modelling (unsupervised text)
• Machine translation
• Image captioning
• Named-entity recognition (NER)
• Specific language modelling for text classification
• Social media sensing
• Implementation of NLP application (Mobile/Web)
